Beyond The First Day
Supporting students beyond the first day of the school year.
Through this initiative, Banned Literary Dept. is working to ensure students across Jamestown Public Schools have access to the resources they need – not just in August, but throughout the entire year.
Why This Matters
At Banned Literary Dept, we believe that knowledge is power. And access to education, books, and learning is what shapes future opportunity.
When students are worried about what they’re going without, whether it’s food, basic supplies, or everyday essentials, it becomes harder to focus, participate, and fully engage in the classroom.
Right now, many families are being asked to stretch more than ever. Rising costs are forcing difficult trade-offs – and students feel that in the classroom. This is where their future begins.
Because the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and creators are sitting in classrooms today.
And they deserve the ability to focus on learning not on what they’re missing.
